4 Australian Furniture & Home Decor Designers to keep an eye on.

Us Aussie’s are known for working the interior design landscape on a global scale. Vogue living was originally started and was most successful here down under and continues to showcase up and coming designers to this day.

As we venture out of the pandemic I have seen many talented Australian designers start releasing some pretty gorgeous home goods!

Here’s a couple to hopefully get your creative side going.

Lucy Montgomery

‘Lucy Montgomery Collection comprises a selection of handcrafted furniture, indoor & outdoor cushions, tableware, fabrics & wallpaper and accessories & objects. In addition to her core range, Lucy has recently collaborated with renowned brands including rug merchants Cadrys and furniture retailer, Jardan to create a range of bespoke pieces.

Lucy is also a regular stylist of Belle magazine’s flagship house stories, working with architects, interior designers and photographers to produce arresting imagery of Australia’s most beautiful residential projects.’

Rachel Donath

‘Inventory by Rachel Donath is a collection of sourced and made furniture and objects, with an emphasis on rare and sculptural pieces.

Rachel Donath’s first collection draws inspiration from the timeless aesthetic of French and Italian modernist design and lends on the iconic shapes, forms and materials synonymous with celebrated European designers such as Royère, Perriand and Becchi.’

Sarah Ellison

‘Sarah Ellison is a leading Australian interior stylist and product designer based in Byron Bay, Australia. With a background in fashion design, Sarah worked as a professional magazine stylist for over 10 years and launched her namesake furniture and home accessories label in 2017.

Her aesthetic is modern and innovative, nodding to international trends, but with a down-to-earth simplicity that is distinctly Australian and easily relatable for both consumer and design led clients. This humility has also become her signature within her own label, great design without the ego.’

Merci Maison

Merci Maison is the brainchild of designers Jade Yarbrough and Danielle Robertson. Their brand is one that curates coveted objects from around the world and also works directly with makers to design pieces exclusively. The result is a brand that celebrates both form and function. A brand that can help you inject style and elegance without having to completely change the pieces you already have.’ -Mia Steiber

So there is just a taste of whats to come out of the pandemic here Down Under. I can’t wait to watch this space bloom as we know pull focus in on the space we spent so much time in these last two years. I love the shift to focus in on what we surround ourselves in rather than there being too much focus on what we wear on our backs and drive around in.

Looking forward to seeing whats to come! Hope these new age designers have inspired you as much as they have for me.

Until next time!
